SEC Review Week 8

Saturday, October 24, 2026

All results final · AP poll released October 25

The league offered Tennessee an opportunity. The Vols gave it back. While South Carolina finished the upset in Columbia, Kentucky kept winning, Alabama recovered and Texas knocked off Ole Miss.

Tennessee goes into its open week at 6–2 and 3–2 in the SEC. The next opponent is a Kentucky team that has moved into the AP top 10. The corrections need to last longer than a good practice report.

What It Means for Tennessee

A win would have left Tennessee 7–1 overall and 4–2 in the SEC, firmly involved in the chase. It would not have put the Vols alone atop the league: Kentucky is 5–1 in conference play and Georgia is 4–1. The loss still represents a costly missed opportunity.
